"The five singers are a vocally attractive lot and truly sensitive both to the texts and to the ways in which Rorem's music illuminates those texts", raves Raymond Tuttle; "These performances, cannily sequenced, are a model of how these songs should be sung". Director Alisdair Hogarth "makes a treasurable contribution… Rorem's piano … demands artistry and technical skill. Hogarth supplies it unstintingly."

It has just been confirmed that the Prince Consort will be giving the official European premiere of Ned Rorem's masterpiece song cycle 'Evidence of things not seen' at the 2009 Oxford Lieder Festival to coincide with their CD and DVD release of his songs.

The Prince Consort performs at the Young Singers' Welfare Foundation launch concert and are joined by their patron Sir Thomas Allen, as well as Rosemary Joshua, Donald Maxwell and Lillian Watson.
